The benefits of Aspen’s training has been her ability to transfer the solid theory behind holistic decision-making into real life examples. The relevancy and tangibility of this makes for good learning. Because of this, and our existing management system and land management knowledge, I am very confident that Holistic Management will play a large part in our future.

Prior to this training my life lacked focus and structure. This training has given me a lot of confidence, enthusiasm and direction with where to go and what I want to achieve in my life.

The Sustainable Stewardship seminar offers you an advanced
and complete approach to creating a sustainable life, or landscape or
livelihood, whatever you do and wherever you live.
Dem bones, dem bones
Remember that song ‘dem bones, dem bones, dem dry bones’? How it went on to show how every bone was connected to the next one? We now know that the same could be said of our lives on this planet. Everything we do, has an impact on someone, or something, or the planet we live on. Sometimes it can feel like an overwhelming responsibility. The Sustainable Stewardship seminar helps address this ‘overwhelm’.
Supportive structure
Using a simple, structured approach, we learn how to reduce this
‘overwhelm’ to manageable proportions. We learn how we can arrange
all those bones into a skeleton that works. And the wonderful thing
about skeletons is that they give support, while providing movement
and flexibility. So why is it important to have movement and
flexibility? It helps us respond to change.
The challenge of change
Change is something that makes the world go around. Managing that
change can be a challenge. We can sometimes feel that there is
simply no let-up to arranging and re-arranging. The Sustainable
Stewardship seminar provides a way in which we can respond to change,
without feeling as though we are standing on shifting sands. So, we
have structure and we have movement and flexibility. What has this
got to do with sustainable stewardship?
Real sustenance
Sustainable stewardship ensures that our actions are as sustainable
as they can possibly be: whether in our life, or our landscape, or
our livelihood. To do this requires a structured way of deciding on
those actions, and a responsive way of approaching change. The current
response to our environmental crisis has produced a bewildering array
of approaches. Unfortunately, most of them are symptomatic and few
of them holistic. When we appreciate that every bone is connected
to the next one, then we need to look at them as a whole skeleton, as
well as individual bones. The way they behave individually affects
the movement of the whole skeleton. This whole approach is the
bedrock of the Sustainable Stewardship seminar.
