The Natural Mediterranean Garden seminar introduces
residents in southern Spain to the crucial differences between the
Mediterranean and northern European landscapes. Understanding the
unique natural processes in southern Spain, enables gardeners to
create beautiful gardens that are in sympathy with the constraints of
the local environment.
An embarrassing fact
The number of immigrants to southern Spain from northern Europe is taking its toll on the environment. Many of us have the reputation of being poor caretakers of the land we have bought. Those of us who do our best, may find that the work is too much, or that we are using huge amounts of water and other resources to manage our gardens. This seminar offers help in creating gardens that are both a pleasure and a testament to our care.

Creating just such a garden rests on understanding where it stands
on the Savory Brittleness Scale. This simple fact underpins
everything we do. It helps us conserve water, make compost, plant
appropriately and create a garden that is easy to work. When we
understand the concept of brittleness, we begin to work with nature,

Mediterranean, and what the implications are for your garden. The
Natural Mediterranean Garden seminar is designed to help you:

The week-end residential seminar is held at Semilla Besada, at
1300m above the town of Lanjarón in the province of Granada. This
provides you with the perfect opportunity to see all the theory put
into practice. More particularly the features are:

- Full board and accomodation in

- Six hours of instruction each day
- The use of both talks and practical exercises in an interesting
and varied presentation
- A maximum number of four participants
- The inclusion of comprehensive handouts and access to Semilla
Besada's reference library.

Residential Seminar Dates
The Natural Mediterranean Garden Seminars are of 2 days duration. They start at 9am on Saturday and finish at 4pm on Sunday. Accomodation may be available for the Friday night if required.
