Thank you for everything. You have been so kind (and patient!)
with us all. It has been really wonderful to experience such a different
pace of life for a while in such a breathtakingly beautiful place.
I still can't believe the views are real!

this wonderful location.

Great place, guys. You could live here a 100 years and still not
understand it all. Still it’s great to try!
Reg Curtis, UK
Thank you all for the opportunity to be here and be able to breathe
out and enjoy the sky and the mountains.
Rick Pike, UK
Undoubtedly this has been the right place at the right time -
space and time for reflection in this special place, balanced with
a happy, relaxed family atmosphere. The talks and the books have
truly added to the wholeness of the experience.

Accommodation
The Lodge is a comfortable
apartment on the first floor of the family farmhouse and
provides the perfect 'space away from it all' to enable you to
make the best of your seminar experience.
It is located at Semilla Besada, the family research farm, where
you can see the active results of holistic decision-making.
|
 |
|
The Lodge has its own entrance, giving you
complete privacy and the opportunity to wind down at the end of
the day. The wild grape vine
provides shade during the hottest summers and acts as nature's
air-conditioning for the apartment..
|
There are two twin-bedded rooms. One is
located on the south side of the
apartment and has views over Semilla Besada and the Contraviesa
mountain range. It has a wood-burning stove to warm the room in
winter. The other is located to the north and has views over
the mountains to the Mediterrean Sea in the distance.
|
|
|
The living room has a
kitchenette with a gas two-ring hob, sink and fridge.
There is also a dining table with chairs, and comfortable armchairs
in which to relax at the end of the day. During the winter
the living room can be heated by a wood-buring stove. Wood is
provided from sustainable local sources.
|
The adjoining balcony faces
south and offers breathtaking views of the De Gador,
Contraviesa and De Almijara mountains. The coastal towns of
Salobreña and Motril can also be seen in the
distance. On a clear day you can even see the Atlas mountains
in Morocco. With a table and four garden chairs, it boasts
full sun and provides a beautiful setting for
seminar sessions out of doors.
|
|
|
In order to conserve water resources
the separate bathroom is fitted with a mini-bath with shower
and a regulated flushing toilet. If you wish to mitigate your
water usage even further there are composting toilets
available at Semilla Besada. There is also a wash-basin with
adjacent shaver point. You are provided with
bio-degradable body-care products in order to protect soil
microbiology, as all the water is re-used to irrigate the
plants.
|
In order to further conserve non-renewable energy sources,
power is supplied by a solar system, which provides for the
lighting needs of The Lodge. Although it precludes the use of
an iron or hairdryer, mobile phones can be charged if you bring
the appropriate 240v ac adaptor.

Road to the Lodge
The journey to The Lodge from Lanjarón takes approximately
25 minutes. The first third is concreted and therafter the
dirt road winds its way up the mountain from 659m
to 1300m in over 100 bends, providing increasingly stunning views
over the mountains as you climb. For those not used to driving
on dirt roads, the track would be considered adventurous! However
locals come up and down regularly in their cars, one in his
VW beetle!. The trick is to take the whole process slowly and
not to arrive in the dark for the first journey.
